Pouring out one's heart
in prayer to God is a lifelong practice that results in life-giving blessings, the best of which are a deeper awareness of the heart of God and the experience of a soul at rest.
- Lois Krogh
Growing up in Southern California, Lois attended both a one-room schoolhouse in the country and an inner city school in San Diego, where she and her sisters were the minority culture. After graduating from Biola University (B. A., English), she married Steve in 1981. Lois taught Math, Bible, and mentored young women at a private high school, while Steve attended seminary in Dallas, Texas.
For thirty years she happily served alongside Steve in two churches. One in Northern California and the other in West Michigan. When Steve joined the ministry of Training Leaders International, they moved to the Chicago area.

Lois loved, raised, and taught six children through whom she learned to appreciate hunting and classical music, athletics and home arts, international dishes and fierce conversations. Her children, their four spouses and seven grandchildren are spread from Virginia to California to Texas and Alabama.
Becoming empty nesters in 2021, Lois and Steve joyfully accepted an invitation to help plant Christ Church in South Metro Atlanta, where Steve is an elder and Lois mentors women and writes Bible study curriculum.
Crossway published Lois's Pour Out Your Heart Prayer Journal in the fall of 2022.
